Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

- The Robots.

Meeting Sondre Lerche

So, I was listening to Phantom Punch, the other day, and thinking about the evening I met Sondre Lerche. I very much would have liked to have had this goal on my 43T list: Meet Sondre Lerche and Somehow Convince Him to Say He Wrote the Song “She’s Fantastic” About Me. Basically, I would have liked to add this as a goal because no way on earth would I have believed I could do this. So, when I did this, April 1, 2007 at the Double Door in Chicago (no joke) it was an amazing feeling.

Random Picture Post

Funny, this picture is from many years ago. It was taken at the first show I ever played with my first band. I found it because someone left a comment on another account I never check anymore. My hair, ugh…anyway. My bandmate, David, looking not like himself at all. Blast from the not-too-terribly distant past but still unexpected all the same.

Whirled Peace

So, I’m behind the game on this one…My friend, Wendy, sends me a note about a new Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor to honor John Lennon. This one is called Imagine Whirled Peace? Hmm…

Well, it sounds delicious…and it has become one of Wendy’s favorites so, it will be tracked down.

Who Ever Knew

TARDIS would be such a big part of my modern vocabulary…?

Song of the Day: Salute Your Solution

Ooooh, how I adore the Raconteurs!

New Song and No More Lemon-Filled Krispie Kremes!

-Wrote a new song today called New York City. It is inspired by a good friend of mine who lives there…I was sent the music from my bandmate and opened the mp3 to listen to it today around 10 a.m. and finished writing the song at 10:40 a.m. I love when this happens and I love the song.

-Krispie Kreme discontinued the lemon-filled doughnut and I’m floored!

Yummy Weekend

So, I went to visit my brother in St. Louis this weekend and had a really great time. While there I ate some of the best things ever and had to make note of them.

1. Tostada Pizza – I ordered this at California Pizza Kitchen during a shopping trip with Arie and Teagan. This pizza has a black bean base, pico, lettuce, and herb ranch dressing on top. It is fairly simple but just has an amazing taste.

2. Coconut Curry Vegetables – This was from P.F. Chang’s, another lovely mixture of good things like tofu, bok choi, carrots, onion, red pepper, broccoli, and mushroom over brown rice in a fantastic coconut curry sauce

3. Banana Sour Cream Crepes – This was from City Coffee House & Creperie. The sour of the sour cream and the sweet of the bananas, syrup and brown sugar made for the perfect balance for a blissful breakfast treat. Loved this thing…

4. Boiled Quail Eggs – and the best, I saved, for last…

New Mates of State!

So, I don’t plan to continue to post randomly about new albums coming out however, I’ve heard of a couple of good ones as of late. The one I heard about today is the new Mates of State album that is due out in May! I’ve put my order in already. These two put on the best live show and I enjoy each and every sillysweet melody.

New Raconteurs!

So, yesterday was the announcement of the new Raconteurs album that is due out on Tuesday of next week! It is odd because I have been thinking about Brendan Benson a lot lately and wondering when his next solo album was coming out…this helps to explain things as he must’ve been working with the Raconteurs for this new one. I’m eagerly anticipating its release!
