My daughter just turned 10 years old in September. I wrote another letter to her last night. I am so fortunate to have her in my life and to be a mother to such an amazing little girl, who is growing up so quickly.
I believe she will cherish my letters throughout her life. If anything, she will be reminded of fond memories shared such as her “birthday balloon” lift off celebration (a tradition I created for her that we do every birthday).
My heart is full of love and gratitude.

I had originally planned on writing one letter a month for a year to my daughter. Letters filled with simple pearls of my limited wisdom as a gift to her while she is in the middle of her teens. I didn’t stick with the monthly plan, yet the binder of letters continues to fill up gradually.
Notes about love, faith, community, honesty, fun, adventure, death, and stories of significant life events that taught me various and sundry lessons. I do my best to express myself in an open way, without being overly revealing in regards to the more censored situations. She will be a teenager, after all. There will be time for more intimate conversations as she gets older and more experienced in life. For now I will keep it simple.
Let the words flow with love ~
