We’re undergoing another construction project here. My 10 yo dd’s bedroom and our 2nd floor hallway. It’s been gutted, installed new insulation & drywall. Tapers just finished taping & sanding the drywall mud. (It was a horrid mess!) The hubby will start painting tonight. If all goes well, carpet to be installed next week.

My dd is sleeping in the living room, her dresser is in there too. Boxes of her things are in the dining room as well as clothes in my closet. She’s taken over the house. I cannot wait to get her back in her room so I can reclaim the house!

The kids desk

has been a thorn in my side forever. I decided to tear it apart yesterday in hopes of finding my dd’s Ipod. I tossed, I donated and recycled so much from it. Cleaned out the credenza and drawer. It looks and feels so good now! I’m quite proud of myself. :o)

If I felt better, I’d tackle another project today.

Dining room

I decluttered and dusted the top of my china cabinet. YIKES! Another box has been started for donations. Today I hope to go through the side table. Instead of housing dining room linens and things, it has accumulated craft supplies. They will go down into the basement in our craft area.

On my list: Kitchen decluttering. Get rid of any plastic that does not have a lid. (This would be a great project for one of my kids). Organize pantry. Foods we don’t eat any more or that have been opened for some time will go. I have packages of crackers & chippy things that no one is interested anymore. Probably stale.

I do horribly at keeping the pantry clean & organized. Must work on that.

Today's haul

3) 13 gallon size garbage bags full of childrens clothing. Along with some shoes.
1 HUGE box filled with misc.
1 smaller box with Halloween costumes, picture frames & knick knacks.
going to a charity tomorrow.

I also hit the basement tomorrow while my kids are in school. Shhh! :o)

Garage sale

3 boxes of books to half price books. $30.00
Sold $50.00 worth of stuff at the sale.
Hauled 10 boxes, 2 garbage bags to church for a rummage sale.
Hauled 3 boxes & 1 bag of toys to a charity re-sale place.
Donated 7 bags (big garbage bags) of clothing to inner city homeless project.

I’m pumped to go through the rest of the house now. Bag or box in hand!

Garage sale

this weekend. I’m getting rid of everything I don’t love. Praying I can break bonds with some things – memories are not in the stuff, their in my memory!
