I purchased a new netbook last night!
While I still intend to purchase a bigger computer in the near future once I recoop my insurance money for the desktop that got ruined in October’s unfortunate apartment flood, both my mac and PC were out of comission. I had been planning on getting a new netbook at some point anyway; so now seemed like as good a time as any.
I love the little Toshiba and I hardly notice the smaller keyboard at all. For such a small machine, typing does not seem all that unnatural, which is good because I hope to do a lot of writing on it!

I had this built back in 2006 but it’s caused a load of trouble since.
One thing after another has gone wrong and I’m not going to pay the Geek Squad to do a $99 dollar diagnostic to tell me that’s it’s something stupid again, like the fans being installed backwards. So basically I have an $600 dollar glowing ottoman. (Though I will say that it makes a very pretty foot rest, green & glowing dragon case purr)
The boy-o believes he can fix it with some time, but we’re still doing the distance thing right now. He needs time to tinker and it’s hard when we only see each other three days at a time every few months.
At any rate, when he does move up we’ll at least have one working desktop between us. Maybe we can salvage some of the parts from comp. There are still good pieces in it, they just don’t work with each other. Murf.
