About three years ago, my young cousin, Austin, passed away after a long battle with aplastic anemia.
It was a tragedy, but the years that he gained through the help of others were a blessing to all his family and friends. He received weekly transfusions of both blood and platelets.
Giving blood is something I always wanted to do but unfortunately my health was something of an issue a few years back. Now though, I have no excuse other that I just haven’t found the time which is horrible. But I’m going to do it; by the end of summer my goals is to have this done.
