There’s one hell of a market for westerners willing to pay top dollar for a taste of enlightenment and a picture of them standing next to a guru for their myspace page.

I’ve found a volunteer program that would be $900 for a month’s stay, which is a deal in contrast to the other volunteer programs, but still feels like maybe too much.

An ashram stay may be my best bet.

I’d like to get involved in a volunteer program, but I too am having the same problem as the person above, which is that the cost of these supposed non profits really takes advantage of you, especially when you consider the worth of American dollars there.

I’m working on it, though.. still researching organizations.
