Calluses!
WooT!
I need a cheap, decent 6 string to work on my picking.. It’s hard to tune my ears with my 12 string.

Wish I’d known it was only going to cost me $30 to replace 5 strings, a broken peg, and have it tuned.
When you forget how to breathe you grow new lungs..
Gotta paint.. Gotta sketch.. Gotta pour myself into 12 strings..
Learning “Let It Be” by The Beatles, and “Drive” by Incubus. My mother started teaching me the picking to Malagania just this morning. I’m also writing some of my first music, but I can’t move my fingers fast enough to flow yet. I’m still pretty pleased with myself… It’s helping me get through this…
Sipping tea at your local cafe, some kid made $5 after only playing his guitar for a week.
Alright, alright..
Guess I’d better stop making excuses and dust my guitar off, huh?
Picking up my guitar tonight I’m feeling really discouraged..
My fingers are so slender its hard, maybe impossible to play cords that require muiltiple strings held down with one finger..
Seems every song I want to learn requires F, Fm, so on..
I’m going to start being more devoted to practicing, strengthen my hands, but I worry ultimately that won’t be enough..
I gave up pricing hunting for a guitar after my misfortunes with ebay..
}}}RIP lil’ Fender…{{{
Anyway, I’m going backpacking come spring and really wanted to get this in motion so.. I did some shopping around, looked up reviews, caught a sale, and bought what I hope to be, fingers crossed, a good first 12 string waiting for me when I get back to Vegas, which’ll make having to leave Seattle after 2 life altering months a little less painful.
My guitar arrived broken this morning.
After weeks of waiting for the auction to be over, then payment to go through, then shipping I’m pretty sad about it.
I’ve filed a claim with FedEx, and gotten a hold of the Ebay dealer.
sigh
I guess I have a few reasons behind wanting to learn the guitar..
Near everyone in my family plays. Its one of the few legacies I’d like to continue.
And when I strum a cord it reminds me of someone I used to know, warms my heart like nothing else has managed to.
I guess I’ve reached a point where drawinging, painting, sculpture, writing, its all not enough.
I’ve picked up the 6 string a couple times, but never had much feel for it until recently when I fell in love with my mother’s 12 string.
So.. after hunting for a couple months, sales, pawn shops, craigslist, I finally found something decent in my price range on ebay.
I won by $2 with 2 seconds to spare.
big cheesy grin
Go me!
It should be here in a week.
