Second week - back in training (FINALLY) 3 years ago

Ok, so I kind of had to abandon the yoga thing for a while to sort out other stuff.. but hey, such is life.

I realized that getting practice in after work wasn’t going to do it for me since my schedule is constantly double booked with social stuff… Sooo, I had to get into classes at 6:30am… OUCH! But, I’ve been doing it… which surprizes me… but it’s starting to feel good.

My goal is to continue going to classes twice a week (tues and thurs) – just to make it a regular thing. I’ll see where it goes from there.

Have to admit – the body both hates it and loves it… thank god for hot tubs!

ok, so i’ve been totaly slak on my practice for the past couple months… but in my defence, I took that time to tackle a greater challenge – and I’m happy to say that I haven’t had a cigarette in almost 2 months now! now THAT was a challenge!

Now that I want to get back into yoga, as it turns out, I broke my hand and have just been fitted with a cast… Oh well – such is life I guess – just got to roll with it.

Thankfully, I have a couple friends who instruct – and I’m going to see if they would be kind enough to help me put together a ‘cast friendly’ program next week.

Still here, still reading the entries, still cheering from the sidelines.

Getting there 3 years ago

Ok, been a while since an update… life just keeps getting in the way.

I seem to be gettin into the habit of two days on and one day off. Not a bad habit, but I can still do better… Just have to make sure to make the time for this more frequently – but some days, hitting that snooze button is WAY easy!!! Thinking of puting my alarm clock at the other end of the room, or better yet, on my yoga mat!

It’s nice to know that other’s have ‘bad yoga days’ too… sometimes, I just can’t get my head into it when I’m taking a class. One time, i actually sliced my thumb open in ashtanga, still have the scar… now THAT was a bad class…

Well, I didn’t get my yoga in today – but I’m packing my mat since I’m out of town for the next 4 days. Hope the hotel room is big enough.

Namiste y’all!

I gotta confess – I’ve been a slack dog with no upward dog since the holidays, (really let my practice ‘slip’); but finally got back on the mat this morning.

Being realistic, my short term goals are to do 30 min per day for three consecutive days, and take a 90 minute class once a week for 4 consecutive weeks. I’ll up the goals from there and keep you posted.

The underlying yogi philosophy of ‘sitting with sensations’ has sunk in, and I find exploring it on the mat helps motivate me. I figure this is as much a part of my practice as the actual physical movements.

Sooooo… to Anais, Amy, Angi, Jess, Apolonia and Ray… GO TEAM GO!
