A saunter to the Botanic Gardens 19 months ago

Wandering through the park near our flat…

Over the bridge…

Upon entering the Botanic Gardens I was surprised to find a book fair happened to be held that day. Hurrah! After purchasing a book for myself and something for a friend, I strolled through the park in the sunshine, finally stopping at a bench in a nice quiet area. I had a lie down, listened to Belle & Sebastian (I doubt there’s anything else more suitable for a sunny day in Glasgow town) then toddled off home after a couple of hours.

I was trying to capture the huge chimney but the zoom wasn’t working…

Critical Mass sticker on a parking meter. I chortled.

Unfortunately I didn’t walk through there, just past it. I like the weird effect the sunlight has though.

I tried to capture the beautiful autumn colours but the camera on my phone is shit. :(

I didn’t fall in, honest.

Skywards is my favourite direction.

Does the walk to the bus stop count? 23 months ago

I went for a wee wander 2 years ago

Not very far, just a couple of miles. After hopping off the bus from college I decided it was too nice to stay in and mope so I went for a walk in the woods near my house. I saw at least five grey squirrels legging it up trees when they heard me coming and I kept thinking a bird had shat on my head but it was just leaves falling on me.

Walkies 2 years ago

After college on Tuesday I plan to walk all the way up Sauchiehall Street to The 78 (amazing vegan bar/restaurant in the West End) for some lovely food. I was there today and had the veggie burger and chips, which was very nice indeed.

While I was in I picked up a flyer for a record shop called Volcanic Tongue which is nearby, at the very top of Argyle Street, so I might ask the person behind the bar how to get to it and have a peek in.

Then walk from there to Byres Road, possibly stopping by Roots, Fruits and Flowers to pick up some organic veggies for my tea and maybe a wee vegan banana bread. ;)

From there, I’ll head up towards the Botanic Gardens and wander about in there for a bit. Of course bringing along a good book and a cold drink.

Theeeen I’ll toddle up to Maryhill Road where I can get a bus back to Milngavie. :)

edit: All this is of course dependent upon the weather… It’s pissing it down the now so we’ll see how it goes.
