1. Sweden – Ake Edwardson `Sun and shadow`
2. France – Jean-Christophe Grange `Forest of shadows`
3. Iceland – Yrsa Sigurdardottir `I remember you`
4. Italy – Valerio Varesi `Rooms for rent`
5. Scotland – Denise Mina `A field of blood`
6. Russia – Aleksandra Marinina `Stolen dream`
7. Peru – Santiago Roncagliolo `Red April`
8. Finland – Leena Lehtolainen `On a wrong track`
As I`m very fond of scandinavian writers – the next is Jo Nesbo from Norway, with his `Third key`. He seems to be very popular recently – hope this book will show his talent :o)

The book of July – Valerio Varesi and `Rooms for rent` turned out to be something different I`ve expected and maybe this dissapointment is the reason I didn`t like it very much.. Yes – the action took place in Italy, but it was not the Italy I wanted to read about. It was misty, gloomy, melancholic, sad.. I`ve expected someting more energetic and sunny so it would go well with this year summer and all I got was a depressed policeman. Eh.
Fortunately the book for August is better than I thought and he effect is that I`ve already read it – it took me few daysto go through ;o) I DO recommend Denise Mina and `A field of blood`, 80s Glasgow, young aspiring journalist-to-be Paddy Meehan and a really good, well-written, intriguing story!

Haven`t finished the french crime story yet (which is better than I expected! And its action takes part not only in Paris but also in .. Nicaragua which came as a bit of a surprise to me:o), but already bought two other books – one by Valerio Varesi, an Italian writer and another by Yrsa Sigurdardottir – taking part in Iceland. The latter made me really happy and excited, since I`m a huge fan of Yrsa`s books, they come up every year around summer, making my holidays even more enjoyable. I do recommend! :o)

Added spontaneously :o)
Numer 1 is Sweden and Ake Edwardson`s `Sun and shadow`, an Erik Winter novel.
I would really like to read crime stories from different countries – I love discovering new cultures and writers, so if you have any suggestions – feel free to share! :o)
