I hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago, so I’m essentially grounded right now. I did a little bit of aerials work in class on Sunday, and I was really feeling it-so clearly I need to take it a bit more slowly. I’m doing what I need to do to recuperate (my rotator cuff exercises and heat pack no it every day) and meanwhile I’m working on other circus arts, namely balancing and flexibility. I’m also working on core strength (sit ups while hanging upside-down are HARD!) and trying to get to the point of being able to do a single knee-hang. The good thing is that I can do exercises to work on that without really straining my shoulder, except a tiny bit just to get on the trapeze or lyra.
