I’m a firm believer in ‘actions speak louder than words’. However, I often find myself over-analyzing every single, minute little detail of conversations – what I said, what she said, what could that mean? : “Are those words good or bad?”; “What was that intonation?”; “WTF was that LOOK? It didn’t fit with what she was saying!”

People lie. What matters is not the words that someone speaks to you, yet the actions that they take for you.

So I would like to stop analyzing every encounter I have with everyone, and start paying more attention to body language, and my instincts as to what someone’s feeling and thinking.

I’ll start with conversations I’ve had in the past three days. I’ll let go of those times when I heard people call me names, because their actions toward me are kind. I’ll let go of that awkward conversation with a friend, because he was extremely kind to me in the following four hours.

Because when it comes right down to it, I can’t put my thoughts into words very well. I’m beginning to think that I’m not alone in this.
