learn to speak norwegian

Wont be able to really learn the language untill I actually make it out there [Scandinavia], so maybe a year up in the far north doing some study will do some good; better get a second Job so I can start saving heaps more;

So I’ve been working with BIKY on an ongoing basis for 1 week now – YES there was a long stretch of time where there was no time dedicated to my learning the nordic language basics – But if watching a Sweedish police drama counts, which they have been showing on SBS, then I’ve been doing very well :) (I hope they air it again – it’s a great show! – and if anyone from Scandinavia happens to be reading this by chance, or you know anyone from that part of the world who is active withing 43things or anyone who is learning norwegian – drop us a line – specially if you are in Oz)
From what I’ve been reading so far all Scandinavian languages are similar, right? –
And it;s real interesting, the number of similarities which I can pick out between English (UK) and the Nordic branch of Germanic languages, I think though, that since my first language is Spanish and I am fluent with it (Still, which I consider myself very lucky to have always had the chance to practice it and use it in everyday life), I tend to hear more similarities since phonetically there are also heaps of similarities between spanish and norwegian (nordic languages) –
All I can say for now is .. ” what an adventure”

Just thought I’d add this in as well since it is basically the same goal as “Learn norwegian”
I wonder how many other variations of the same goal there are out there in 43Thingslandia :)
