I have lots of recipes that follow the “blood type diet”, which seems to be best for me. Not so much about losing weight, but for feeling better in general after I eat.
I’m trying to figure out why I’m so lethargic lately, and improving my diet is an obvious place to start.

I’ve unpacked all of the kitchen stuff that I’m not going to try to sell. I’ve lived most of my life without a stand mixer, and I rarely use the juicer or ice cream maker. And 5 tea pots, no matter how cool and minimalist, is 3 or 4 too many.
I made a pilgrimage to Penzey’s Spices in Torrence (http://www.penzeys.com) and got the basics. Basics as far as spices is about 25 items, though. I went through my recipe book and found about 8 more items I’ll need, and bought those online. I sent my former housemate a bunch of little bottles so that he could send me half of our copious spice collection, but so far I haven’t gotten them. Fresh start, fresh spices, it’s all good.
So once all the utensils and pots I just unpacked and washed are dry and I find homes for them in my little kitchen, I can have some counter space and get back to cooking something besides boiled eggs.
I want to avoid things that aren’t on the “Blood Type O” diet, so it’s just as well that I’m starting over. The fridge is almost completely empty, like a bachelor fridge without the mustard and beer.
Recipes that form my shopping list:
Baked Dill Salmon
Roasted Lemon Chicken and Peppers
Teriyaki Burgers
Teriyaki Salmon
Chicken Nicoise
Garlic Rosemary Fish

My housemate cooked some “cowboy burgers” from Whole Foods; I roasted some red pepper, asparagus, and garlic. Wonderful!

I’m on my own for the next couple of days, and it is worth cooking just for me. Recipe is from Menu Mailer, which is a service that sends out a week’s worth of menus along with a shopping list. Most of the recipes are fabulous—a higher percentage than from most of my cookbooks.
