Im so tired of people ragging on the French about how “rude” they are. DON’T listen to anyone who says Parisians are mean and nasty, and don’t listen to those who say they’re incredibly nice. Don’t JUDGE a whole city from another person’s view, trip, or opinion. Just GO there for yourself without any expections, any prior judgements…go there as if it’s a completely new country to you and that you haven’t heard too much about it before. This allows you to be OPEN to everything that happens to you. Because if you go to Paris or France with a bunch of expectations, without realizing, you will be much too occupied with “checking off things from your list of expectations” than just being open and enjoying the city in the way it is when YOU are there.
Like ANY person should do when they know theyll be visiting a new country, you should learn as much of the language as possible. It doesnt matter if youre American or Swedish. The lazier you are about learning, the “lazier” the results you will get from not knowing much of the language. At least TRY. It can only better your experience. Im so tired of people expecting so much from other peoples’ opinions and getting pissed off when they’re not “satisfied.” So just go out there, whether you’re in Paris or Lyon, and be open. Realize you are lucky to even be able to travel in a foreign country, and that there are assholes everywhere. Happy Traveling!
