I started reading a poetry book I got out of the library, the only good book they have in Finnish at the SLC library. It was from 1976, very much a reflection of it’s times but it was amazing. Beautiful poetry. So rarely do I found things that are truly beautiful to read.
For anyone who knows Finnish the book is Viidenpennin Hamlet by Jarkko Laine.

I have been trying to talk to my son in Finnish more. Talking to him is really hard. He won’t pay attention, he has better things to do.

I went to the library and got out some books in Finnish. They only have the most terrible and random books in Finnish there. I took out a cook book (I don’t cook), a book on manners, and a poetry book. It was the best. Other than that it was all dictionaries and crappy 1970 pulp novels translated from English. The manners book is kind of interesting. I must add “get better manners” on my list of things to do. It is the first book for adults I have read in years and I find the way it expresses things facinating. Finnish truly is a ritch language. I also must learn to spell common words in English. I always mispell common words like the one that describes a woman who is going to have a baby. See how I dodged having to write it and embarracing myself, I am clever…
