I have always been fascinated with the mystique and romance that trains seem to embody. The noir films about intrigue on the Orient Express to “Strangers on a Train” seduced me as I grew up. Whenever I would go out to the country, I would spend hours by the train tracks just waiting for the next engine to come on down the line. They are beautiful.
Sadly, America’s rail system sucks. My dream is to travel through Europe via rail. That would be too cool for words.
