Wow, 25%!

That is the lowest I have seen it since I bought the body fat scale (down from 33%, my highest recorded percentage).

Down to 27%

From around 30% a few months ago. That wasn’t so hard. And it feels great! I think I’d like to shoot for 23-24% in the end.

My work is having a "biggest loser" contest--with a big cash prize

They’re actually having one of the contestants from the TV show come in for the kickoff event. I’ve never seen the show, I’m a little uneasy about the whole thing. I can’t be certain it will have a body-positive health focus. But I think I will take part nonetheless. My sweetie was floored when I told him.

I think that the group energy will motivate me to stick with my health goals, and I can’t say no to that. I’ll try to just take what I can use and let the rest roll off my back.

Learning my style

I have a much easier time increasing my exercise regimen than I do cutting back on my calorie intake. Adventurous dining is a hobby of mine, and I feel deprived when I cut back. So hey, whatever works, huh?

Here is my exercise graph since I started at Sparkpeople.com. I’ll still look at ways that do work to cut back my eating. But it’s nice to notice what comes easily to me. Bring on the exercise!

Wow, everybody else on this goal seems pretty hardcore!

I am currently about 30-33%, which is in the healthy range, but I understand even a small decrease will have health benefits. I’m not sure what a realistic goal is. Maybe 25-26%? (My sources say 21-33 is healthy for women my age.)

Honestly, I have never been very results-oriented about my fitness goals. Usually I just focus on the process, and sticking to my fitness routine. But it’s possible that being a little more results-oriented might produce better… results. We’ll see.
