become a neat freak

I went looking for my car loan papers today. You’d think I’d know where THEY are.

I don’t.

Sigh.

Here I tried to work towards my goal:

Dealt with a cRAzY long commute home, got there in a GREAT mood, put on The Strokes and started tidying. My husband seemed annoyed that I was doing his job (he’s a stay-at-home dad).

Ooph.

I was watching old home movies yesterday and realized that our house is a mess in most of them. Rather than wait around for someone else to pick up and clean, I realize I have to do it if I want a presentable house.

Sigh. Can anyone find more time in my day? Oh yeah, maybe the 15 minutes I’ve just wasted on 43 Things?

It’s easier to tell other people to clean up. I’ve found myself telling the Bug to pick up this, put away that. Now I have to do the same. I’ve been cleaning the kitchen every night. Folding my clothes, picking up miscellaneous pits of lint & fluff. Cleaned the bathroom. Sprayed the showers. Wiped the floors. Aren’t I piously good?

With our new house we announced this weekend that we would “leave the piggies in San Francisco.” I hope having more room will help with the mess and clutter control!

Also, having family Marie Barrone distance away is a big help with this one.
