Watch less stupid TV

This year I’m only watching CSI (Las Vegas), Journeyman, Survivor: China, Pushing Daisies, What Not to Wear, and a slew of cooking shows. It’s a lot, but the thing is, what I’m watching, I truly ENJOY.

I’m going to mark this as “I’ve Done It!”

I’d love to say I’m watching less stupid tv. I just realized the Bug and I have really enjoyed two of the most mindless shows on these days: Survivor and American Idol. Other than that I sometimes watch CSI (Las Vegas) and CSI: Miami. Horatio Caine makes me laugh too much—he’s a terrible caricature. I’m guessing we’ll let this one drop off.

Mostly we watch DVDs of HBO shows we never saw. Right now we’re watching Six Feet Under and we are HOOKED.

I won’t admit to the world what I Tivo’d and watched last night…three episodes in a row. What a delicious, terrible guilty pleasure!

I watched a bunch of stupid tv on Sunday, including Emeril, Desparate Housewives, and Gray’s Anatomy. Enjoyed it all…but got nothing done in the meantime. Kind of like screwing around on 43 Things when I have TONS of work to do.

But I didn’t watch any tv on Monday or Tuesday.

We’ve moved to the boonies. My dh decided we needed cable. Why? I asked, aren’t you happy with the two channels we get? No, I was told, no one speaks Spanish. “Great,” I said, “We’ll get the basic local channels.” No, no, I was told, we need more. I said I’d look into it.

Now, we’re getting some crazy package that costs sixty bucks a month. I can’t begin to imagine all the stupid tv to which I could expose myself. Fishing shows, hunting with Buddy, Amish Cooking from Quilt Country….oh jeez.

I did not watch Grey’s Anatomy last night. I turned it off and did #5 on my list instead.

Last night I watched so much dumb tv. Do I really ever need to watch the amazing race again? Reruns of King of the Hill? Goddamn without a trace???? And I didn’t even knit the fricken blanket when I did this.

Sigh.
