New dvd's & a book 4 months ago

I stumbled on a pbs show featuring a woman named Peggy Cappy. Her style appealed to me so I have ordered a book by her & a couple dvd’s. I am looking forward to their arrival! I also ordered a couple “blocks” as I have problems without them doing a couple poses at home.

Class on Saturday was counter productive. I tried very hard to keep things at my own level, but the instructor did so many things that pushed my bad left knee to the limit, that I left class barely able to put pressure on it.

I wasted a beautiful Saturday lying with ointment on my knee, eating ibuprofen. On the upside, my best friend also was miserable. She claims even her hair hurt. I dropped out of yoga years ago because this instructor did this regularly. The most recent classes I have attended with her have been fine, sometimes pushing my limits, but not harming me.

My best friend & I are going to go to the Thursday night class with our old instructor this week. We just did not feel that yesterday’s class was what we wanted. We have not decided what we are doing long term, but we both want a successful class before we consider future choices.

Pushed my limits and made me stretch and relax. I am now going to go practice corpse pose for a couple hours, but I feel really good about today’s class!

I just put my registration in the mail for the mixed levels class. I tried it once, and was comfortable with the variety. There are people who have been doing yoga for years and noobs like me. I have no problem listening to my body and not feeling competitive.

The timing for this class just works best with my schedule. Thursday nights were not a good night for me. Thursday is errand day and after running around all afternoon I do not really enjoy going out once again.



My first Basic class! 11 months ago

I was a tad bit nervous going into class. I haven’t done yoga for over a month, and an still mucking around with this cold. I figured I would go & sit out if I needed to.

The teacher said we had all been off for a few weeks so she would start slow. It was a great class & I pretty much kept up. I really suck at tree pose, tho. I have no balance!

We worked on breathing a lot, and it felt really good. I actually am breathing more & more after days of being sure I wasn’t! We also did a lot of just plain stretching & loosening. I feel much better now, then before class. I also feel ready for early bed!

I will move from Intro to Basic Hatha! My Yogini path is clear!!! I signed up today just need to get to studio to pay!

I have started to do yoga. I am trying to attend classes once a week, although the last couple weeks have gone no where. I tried this years ago but the teacher was a bad fit for me. This time I have a teacher who fits me better.

I feel centered and strong as I do my beginning poses. I want to continue in my hatha practice, learn more about the various yoga types and incorporate yoga into my daily life.
