I have been going more & more places, and generally really wish I was just home.
Saturday night I attended a high school production of Beauty & the Beast with my best friend. It was an okay show, her son was cute as a fork…but boy was I glad when it was over!
Today Mom & I took Monkey to a children’s event. Monkey was over whelmed. I saw myself in him. He wanted to watch from the perimeter & after a while fled so fast for the door I barely caught up! I am just never going to like crowds and lots of noise. I like being a wall flower.
Tonight one of my best friends urged me to get out more or at least chat online more. I seriously do not know if it is worth the bother. Maybe I prefer no life? I am meditating a lot so, I am not sure that I can be outward while focusing intently inward.
I am sending mixed messages to myself!

I went to my fairy goddaughter’s graduation party. It was in the middle of suburbia in the land of look a like houses. I got lost even with a map. I finally spotted a house with more vegetation then the rest & knew I had made it. My best friend shares a passion for plants.
My god daughter was very pleased & gave me a gift – an early birthday present. It is a ceramic statue thing of Cinderella & her Fairy Godmother. It was a really sweet gift.
I conversed with a few people, mostly my god daughter’s older sister, who is same age as Boy & was a friend of his in high school. Ate the obligatory food & then left.
Then since I was all dressed up I made a surprise visit to my Mom who was acting in a history tour. She was pretty pleased. It was the end of the day’s events so we went out for dinner & then plant shopping.
All & all a nice afternoon – but the best part really was putting on a grubby tee & planting some more pots in Mom’s garden. hehehe

As discussed months ago, today I flew my kite. It was a lovely Spring day and most of the family went. The Monkey (formerly known as Chunk) fell asleep in his stroller watching the kite. I believe he was very impressed with my skillz.

On Tuesday I decided that rather than staying home, while the Boy was at Uni,m Chunk & I would go out to lunch at McDonald’s. I don;t eat much fast food, and if I do it is take out. For me, this was an actually an outing. We went out & ate and people watched while we ate.
As dinner ended, I had a phone call inviting me to lunch, so even tho we had just eaten, we went to lunch for the socialization. It was a really great afternoon!!!

I went to Florida and the Mardi Gras in Pensacola. We ate out, we saw a parade, spent time walking along the beach, visited museums. I think that was good for the last part of February.
Now I have up & quit the bookstore. One of my reasons was that if all I do is work, I never can do a thing. The job really didn’t pay much, not even minimum wage. I just like hanging out in bookstores. Over the last decade the business has changed, as have my duties. I rarely got to chat with customers any more. By quitting I am able to have a little free time to do some actual hanging out again!
On last Thursday night, I went to the movies with my son & his two best friends for the MIDNIGHT showing of “Watchmen.” I didn’t get home until 3 AM. I chatted with him, his friends, the theater manager – the Crow’s twin brother.
Then on Saturday night everyone in family went out for the Boy’s birthday. We went to the nicest Italian restaurant in town (not chain) and spent a long leisurely meal. Even the Chunk enjoyed the outing.
I am calling the first couple weeks of March challenge completed.

The majority of my team mates have dropped this goal. Anyone interested in doing this?

I own a swimsuit! Mom & I shopped for about three hours. I hate clothes shopping so when I do it, I power shop! I found a swimming suit, several tops & a pair of dress slacks for the trip to Scotland.
Tonight Crow & I did go to see Underworld 3 – The Rise of the Lycans & it was awesome!!! I so much prefer vampires & werewolves to chick flicks!!!
I feel like I almost have a life!!! I went out two nights in a row! I will now retreat into my shell for a few days to recover from the excitement.

Out & about
PAST bedtime. One of my “adopted” children called after 9 PM and wanted me to come over & see his house he bought and hang out. I told him that the Boy had taken the car. So Crow came & got me and I was out ‘til 1:30 AM. We ate pizza & talked. Tomorrow night we are going to the movies.
Yep, it was spontaneous and life like so I figured I would share. I mean I had to change from jammies to a sweat suit to go out. I wanted to say, “No,” at first. But I thought, sheesh if I do this it will be like I have a life where I spontaneously do something. The movie was somewhat planned last week – but this was a surprise.
I am pretty excited to go see Underworld 3 too! Crow is who I saw one with. Attending the last movie spurred me on to contacting him about going to this. I wasn’t sure he’d be willing to go, but he is and if he gets off work too late he said he’d arrange an extra showing just for us. His twin brother is the movie theater manager.
Now to get some sleep after my wild night of watching Crow down 5 beers, while I sipped tea.

I called and got an appointment today, got it cut. I couldn’t go to the funeral tomorrow looking like a mop. I must say that I got this done a lot faster than I anticipated. I even bought some hair goo that is supposed to help in the humidity so when I reach Florida my hair won’t go wild. I talked to my beautician/ex-bf for quite some time. Mom & I even had lunch in the Mall prior to my appointment because we were starving. Chunk loved all the people watching. My grandson is much more social than I.
Friday, I think I will try & do the dreaded swim suit search. I keep telling myself no matter how bad it looks – I will; 1) be getting exercise, 2) never see most of those people again. Buying a swimming suit is such a painful experience.

We have had coffee and gone to a movie. What about an outing to improve our appearance? Haircut, clothes shopping, manicure…something along those lines – but each choosing what they need. I know I postpone all those activities.
I NEED a haircut & swimming suit before I leave on vacation in a couple weeks. (Yep I am suggesting something I am in dire need of to get a life). I will be the shaggy woman without a bathing suit at the pool & beach in Florida.
