Make a quilt

I have not had as much time to do my own projects at work of late; I find myself actually working. I brought the quilting stuff home Monday, and will drag my sewing machine home next.

I am going to try to sew at home with the help of the dogs. This should be an adventure. My big dog has always liked sewing for some reason. He likes to try and sit on my projects. I am trying to figure out where I can do this without too much help. I think I will be rearanging furniture.

My daughter came & hung out with me & we chatted as I cut. It was great! She has put in a request for colors for a quilt for herself…purples…which I already knew. She is a wee bit purple obsessed!!!

I think I might have overdone the energy expended gwting it cut today with my cold, but I am glad that the cutting is done. Next step is appliqueing hearts to some of te big squares.

Well I mucked around with my pattern and decided I needed a bit more of one fabric. Today I finally picked it up. If everything goes well, I might get done cutting out all the squares tomorrow and possibly the hearts that will be appliqued on a few squares.

My cold has kept me from working on this for a week and I feel frustrated. I am so excited about it! I want to make it up!

I cut 116 – 6 inch squares today. I need to cut 4 more 6” squares and 25 – 12” squares, then 24 hearts for appliqueing. I can’t believe how fast it went! I ran out of one color so need to go pick up another piece tomorrow.

I am getting more excited all the time!!!

I bought fabric & picked out a design. I also bought a premade quilt top so I guess I am going to make two simultaneoudly. One partial & one fully from scratch. I am both nervous & excited. I have the fabric in the washer right now in preparation to cut.
