spend an entire day watching the extended version of all three Lord of the Rings movies back-to-back-to-back

I was going to watch them when Hurricane Rita ripped through town and I had the perfect opportunity. Houston was shut down - most of the city evacuated and the rest of us took off work and nothing was open and where can you go in a hurricane anyway? But I hadn’t yet hooked the DVD player up to the old TV (the new TV is on the blink) and when I went to do so, I realized I didn’t have the right cables. And Houston was shut down - no stores open. Grumble, grumble. And the darned hurricane didn’t even come to Houston, fickle little mingchild that it was. (That was for you abnasm! I’m helping out your cause here.)

We are not coming to work tomorrow or Friday. We’re supposed to use them on hurricane preparedness. Whatever. I’m going to clean my house and get my plants and lawn furniture and doghouse indoors. But maybe I will take some time either Friday or Saturday and do the LOTR marathon. If the power doesn’t go out on Saturday, a hurricane might be a good time to do this!

(No, I am not pathological. Don’t you think LOTR is exciting enough to take my mind off of a hurricane?)
