We played a show at Spike Hill in Williamsburg last Sunday. I played one bad note, missed others completely and forgot to sing one chorus. But considering how long the show was, that was good.

We had a show last night where I didn’t make any mistakes, but I still wouldn’t call it perfect. I didn’t play an instrument. It was all singing and, for whatever reasons, I couldn’t hit my low D properly. So while I was going for the right note, it wasn’t always there.
I was doing okay a the gig last night until I hit our most complicated song which I also sing lead on. I missed a lot of notes.
After many months of practicing, my band has a gig in September. My parts have gotten much more complicated as I am playing bass and singing, often both at once. So many notes and words to remember.
I’m in a new band and I’m singing bass and doing a little percussion. Not having an instrument to handle should decrease my chances of making an error. The songs are tightly arranged but the sets are short so those factors probably cancel each other out. I have a gig tonight. Maybe it’ll be the one.
Every show I play with my band, I always make a mistake, hitting wrong notes mostly. I’ve gotten pretty good at compensating for it, but I’d love to play a show with no errors.
