from 1:15 to 6:45. Not good. That after a lousy sleep on Sunday night.

last night. I got at least 8 hours, even taking into account the periods that Moxie woke me up to go out or just have some attention. The thing is, we were clearly exhausted, both way behind on sleep for a week. My wife has taken to sleeping upstairs when she wants undisturbed rest. The trouble with this is, when I’m awakened early early in the morning or late at night, I’m on auto-pilot and after taking care of the dogs, usually go find her, with Moxie yapping and bouncing around not far behind me, waking up my poor wife, who has trouble getting back to sleep.
The solution is for Moxie to have one chance to sleep with us on the bed. After she awakens me or my wife, she goes outside for a bit and then is off to her crate for the rest of the night.
She’s such a cuddly and affectionate little beast, most of the time, we hate to crate her. So we have to get over that.
five and a half hours last night. Why did I need to stay up past midnight to watch my dvr of the Home Run Derby?
a long night. There’s a big storm coming in, and our golden retriever gets very upset when the thunder starts. She will climb up onto our bed and whine and cry. I suppose I could crate her, but I hate for her to have to face her fear alone.
pretty well over the weekend. The dogs woke me up a few times (once last night when our little one let go of her high-pitched bark right in my ear. Really jumped that time! She wanted me to wake up, but not so she could go outside. Her attitude seems to be that if she’s not sleepy, no one else need sleep either. Am thinking it may finally be time to find a good book on training a terrier.
dragging all morning. The dogs woke me up around 2 a.m. and then again at 6. This would be okay if I’d gotten to bed before midnight, which was completely my fault.
and bulk, it’s important that i try hard for seven hours of sleep at least five nights a week. I feel so much better in the mornings after seven. Over the last few years, I’ve read many news stories that say lack of sleep is terrible for your physical and mental health. The latest bit is that lack of sleep increases stroke risk, even for skinny people. So I’m renewing my efforts on this goal.
but hate to roll around in bed, unable to nod off. That state provokes extreme anxiety. Better to just stay up until I’m exhausted, or so I’ve been telling myself.
last night. I tried to get through the night without any meds to help me sleep. Won’t make that mistake again anytime soon. Now for my 4th cup of coffee..
