Learn Japanese

So I have an account on the Japanese equivelant of Myspace, Mixi.jp. Not too long ago, I started hanging out with an awesome guy from the states I met on mixi that just moved back home to the Northwest from Japan. So he’s fluent in Japanese, and lived there for two years, and is helping me to keep motivated… and introducing me to other fluent Japanese speakers.

So the plan now is, enroll in SCCC in the fall for 08, study for two years to get an AA, and then transfer to a state college like the UW or Western, and sign up for a transfer program in Japan. Oi.

Still studying, writing basic sentences with all the Kanji I know. :)

I’ve already invested several hundred dollars into resources. I’m teaching myself using the Genki textbooks and several purchased and free supplemental resources; there are also Japanese translators in my department at work if I have any questions, so it’s all about the effort.

I’m reviewing chapter 2 this week, and hope to go at a pace of about a chapter a week. I should be learning all new material at about chapter 6.
