I am getting there... 3 years ago

little by little…I spent the weekend with family this past weekend and my Mom pulled her back out. She has been doing Mariel (not sure of the spelling) healing for the past 15 years if not longer and I have always been in awe of her “power”. Several years back I was trained and certified in Reiki healing and have been practicing ever since…anyway, long story short, my Mom asked me to put my hands on HER this time and I was so excited and nervous, worried it wouldn’t help her as she has helped me all these years…she called me last night to say I helped her immensely. She was able to get up, go to the store and get her grocery shopping in-all things she had planned on bypassing b/c of the pain! It feels great to know I really have something here…I suppose I doubted myself to a degree but Mom really helped erase that! God I love her…and I am so glad I continue to evolve into someone who can emmulate her.

I went home for my grandmothers unveiling (Jewish tradition) and was surprised at my Mom’s behavior toward the whole matter. My Fathers family is not what you’d call all that functional. His parents were not very kind, not warm and embracing etc. but certainly did the best they could. One of my uncles married a huge bitch who really did all of us wrong, including my Gramms…anyway, my Mom made it a point to wear my Grammas diamond necklace-noone knew my Gramma gave it to my Mom so it was kinda like “haha in your face” which is SO not my Mom. Anyway, I spoke to her about it and she simply said “you must always remember that noone is perfect, not even me” and that was it. God I love her for her simplicity. Cheers to my Mom-even in her imperfection she continues to amaze me.

and had to adopt it…I hold my mom in the HIGHEST regard and have always said if I could grow to be half the woman she is I would be happy. Funny enough, I am exactly 1/2 her age, her born 12/12 and me 6/6 30 years apart, one would think it a natural goal! Anyway, both my parents have been excellent role models but my mom is the single strongest woman I have ever met and that is certainly something for me to continue to strive for…now, to just set up the game plan…
