Paying off the last of my debt soon and we’ll be making our second attempt at moving out sometime this summer.
- Found a nice apartment
- Apartment complex checked our credit
- Got approved for the apartment
- Same day, fiancé broke ankle
- Postponed moving into apartment
Almost.
I paid off my debt, and my fiancé and I are looking at apartments.
We have looked at about 5 places so far, all in private two family homes.
Today we saw our first apartment complex. The place was fantastic! Near the highway so I can zip right on and get to my job and down the road from my school.
The apartment was oak wood floors all throughout, and in immaculate condition, way nicer than any other apartment we’ve seen. Overall, the price is a pretty good deal for what you get.
We applied for it today, so we’re crossing our fingers that we get it!
Wish us luck!
It’s looking like the best time for me to move out will be in March. I will have a few extra items paid off and therefore less bills and more money to put toward rent.
I have about $700 a month I can put toward rent right now, but would like to have some extra “just in case” money.
I need to move out. With my debts being paid off, I’m starting to think I actually will have the money to move out. There is a possibility of moving in with some friends, which would be cool.
Either way, I need to MOOOOOVE OUT!
I keep changing my mind and my girlfriend is going crazy because of it – I’m sorry!
Anyway, I’ve put some thought into it and I just don’t see myself moving out of state until I’ve finished school, which could be 3-4 years because I go part time. It’s just not economical to risk losing credits and trying to find a new college.
It’s also hard to find a house, college, and job all within a certain radius of each other. Do I base my search on colleges and then see what I have to work with or do I look for jobs and then s search for colleges?
As the financial situation is starting to look better, I went to look at a few places. Here’s the catch – they were all in Pennsylvania, near my dad.
My girlfriend is totally into moving and it would be a nice change of pace for us.
I’m currently looking for employment opportunities.
I need a serious plan. I need to move out of my house because I can’t take it anymore. I’m 23, 24 in April, it’s time for me to go.
I pay $50.00 a week in rent and get no privacy or respect – and according to my mom my room isn’t even my room. I’m home 10% of the time, use 10% of the house, buy my own groceries, everything I have is mine because I bought it, which is the way it should be.
I get the hint mom! I’m trying to move out!
Alright, so if I ever hope to achieve this goal, two things need to happen:
1. I need to complete goal number 1, which is to pay off my debt. I set the completion date of this goal to be later August or early September.
2. I need to complete goal number 2, which is to get engaged. I want to get my girlfriend a nice ring so this may take a little bit of saving. I’m looking the ring paid for by December.
After I complete the above I can move out and find an apartment to live in with my “fiancé.” Where we’re moving is up in the air right now.
I’m shooting to be out of my house by Summer 2007. This is a fair target, is it not? I’ll be 24 by then – I should have moved out ages ago by my standards. But hey, I’m ahead of the curve here since the average age that people move out of their parents house on Long Island is 30!
