Stop biting my cuticles

Once again...  — 11 months ago

Although I have not seriously attempted this goal in the last few months, my cuticles have improved slightly.

I am still destroying them in traffic from time to time, but it’s not as bad as it used to be.

I cut my nails last night and also cut away all the dead skin from my cuticles. Right now, they look good. I will try not to bite them anymore. It’s ridiculously hard to hold back in situations that are going to stress me out or waste my time – but I’ll see if I can find one of those stress balls to squeeze.

So not working...  — 1 year ago

I’m not getting anywhere on this goal.

I’m not subconsciously biting my cuticles. I know I’m doing it and I do it anyway.

I don’t know why and I need some tips!

Relapse  — 1 year ago

Traffic has been really bad lately, and as I said before, this is the time when I really do the damage to my cuticles.

I think I should get one of those stress balls to squeeze or something.

Hmm  — 1 year ago

They look a little better than when I first started.

This goal needs more work.

Not too much  — 1 year ago

I haven’t been biting my cuticles AS much.

My girlfriend had this Burt’s Bees Lemon-butter cuticle creme which she gave me. It’s basically to cure dry cuticles, which I have from biting them so damn much.

I’m hoping that keeping them moisturized will deter me from biting them…

WANTING to stop apparently isn’t enough.

I need something to help me stop doing this. I am killing my fingers.

Any suggestions?

Day one  — 2 years ago

I only “nibbled” at my thumbs a little today…I caught myself a few times and made myself stop.

I just remembered a situation that is detrimental to my cuticles: TRAFFIC. When I’m in traffic I do the most damage. I work in New York City so there’s always plenty of it to go around.

I must find something else I can fidget with to take my mind away from biting my cuticles!

STOP ME!  — 2 years ago

I’ve been biting my cuticles as a nervous habit for what seems like a decade now. They don’t look so bad when my hands are dry, but when I get out of a pool or a the shower you can really tell how bad it is.

I’ve noticed that I tend to bite my cuticles when my nails start getting longer. When I cut them, I don’t bite them for a few days.

Maybe my solution is to keep my nails filed daily?
