I must confess  — 1 year ago

I haven’t been eating all that great lately.

I started a new project at my job which totally changed my schedule.

Last week alone I ate pancakes once and bagels twice for breakfast.

And yesterday for lunch I went to McDonalds. Now, I hate McDonalds, I know they’re evil and the food is horrible for you…but I didn’t have any cash on me and that was the only thing around that takes debit cards.

At least I had a grilled chicken sandwhich and a SMALL fry and no soda…right?

I have also been eating sweets that I shouldn’t eat.

This week I’ll get back on track, I promise.

What I ate/drank today  — 2 years ago
Breakfast @ 6:30AM:
  1. Clifbar (100% organic protein bar)
  2. Water
Snack @ 9:00AM:
  1. Apricot fruit leather
Lunch @ 12:00PM:
  1. Small whole wheat wrap with white meat chicken and swiss
  2. Apple
  3. Water and Seltzer water (no aspartame)
Dinner @ 5:00PM:
  1. Boca meatless chili and organic corn chips
  2. Seltzer water (no aspartame)
Snack @ 6:30PM:
  1. Small soft pretzel (no salt)
  2. Water

I think I ate pretty healthy today…didn’t overdo it. There’s always room for improvement though.

Health is weath...  — 2 years ago

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I have made significant strides toward this goal already, but I could definitely improve on this.

Five years ago I was a college student – eating fast food, chips, and soda to sustain myself. Yes, the stereotype is true, college students eat garbage.

A few years later I wanted to lose some weight. I cut out fast food and regular soda, switching to diet soda. Yes, I lost almost 50 pounds from this in a year and a half. Can you imagine?

Fast forward to now. I’m eating a lot better than I used to but I still eat some garbage. I still have the occasional Diet Coke and Doritos, maybe some Taco Bell every now and again. But on the whole, I would say I eat pretty well. I buy organic when I can, I drink mostly plain water or seltzer water with natural flavors, no aspartame, etc. I eat veggie burgers and I’m trying to give up red meat. I actually like all the soy and tofu stuff.

My goal is to give up processed junk food and limit sweets and diet soda. Other than that, I think my diet is pretty healthy.
