I’ve worked with a lot of people for their first photo shoot. I have many people that enjoy working with me. Why – because I allow them to feel comfortable in the shoot. Some people I work with wouldn’t be considered ‘model type’ until you see the simple beauty each person can express.
Advice to potential models – if you have someone insisting that your first shoot must be nude, implied nude and even some of these ‘bikini’ shoots… check into the credentials. What does the portfolio look like? Have you talked with other models that have worked with the photographer?
Above all be safe. Bring an escort and even if they aren’t allowed in the shoot – have them nearby. If you are 18 years bring a parent or at least someone over 21 that will be around for the shoot. Model release forms are standard working agreements, ask for them! Read what rights you have to the photos and know the arrangements BEFORE you have photos taken.
