read one book a week

This was a close one. I almost missed out on last week, but came through in a clinch with a story called “The Monkey’s Paw”. I’d seen a production of it years ago, and thought it be a good quick read. It was, and now I’m well into the Iliad for week 6 (this week). As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.

This week I read Antigone; Sophocles is so intense. Now I’m looking on to week 5. I’m not sure what I’ll read, but it will probably be either the Iliad, or the Stranger, or whatever else I can get my hands on. I’ll keep posting whenever I’ve got something to post. I feel as though I’m well on my way to completing this goal.

I finished Fahrenheit 451 last night and now I need to spend a little time on school work, before starting on next week’s book. I think it’ll be either Antigone or The Stranger.
Also, I wanted to take time to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Fahrenheit 451, and think that it is an amazing book. Since I’ve started this goal, I have had nothing but good expericances working towards reaching it.

I took a break from F451, and read “The Curious Case of the Dog in the Night-Time”. Now, I’m back onto F451 for week 3. Week 4 will either be “The Stranger” or “Antigone”. Making time for reading every week is great. I’m really excited about getting to read all of these new books. :)

Read “Watchmen” over the weekend and now I’m on to “Fahrenheit 451”. If I can finish that this week, I’ll be reading “The Stranger” next week. Then who knows? If I can keep this steady for at least two months then I should be set in a habit. As always, wish me luck.

I’m starting with Heart of Darkness, and I’m planning to be finished this weekend. After that, I’ve got Faust, and we’ll see from there. I really don’t want to loose focus and I think that if I start with smaller books at first, I can gain momentum and work up from there. Long live literacy!

Well, it’s the end of what would’ve been week 2 and I’m 3/4’s of the way finished with Life of Pi. I could’ve finished it, but I let other aspects of life get in the way. So, I’m restarting this goal as soon as I finish my current book and then will keep it up as long as I can. On the bright side it shouldn’t be hard to beat my current record of one week. :P

This week I’ve read Oedipus Rex & I’ve already started on Life of Pi. I hope to have that finished by next week and at some point finish the rest of the Theban plays.
