I am so happy I am making real progress on this gaol, today at 190!
11 pounds to go, also losing BMI and inches. I hope some one notices. I do know my favorite jeans fit, with no sign of a beer belly.
Atkins is working for me!

Atkins is working for me!
I have been trying to learn about the Atkins Diet for the last several weeks.
I have just started Phase 1 Induction: Where I am working on reducing my carbohydrate intake to 20 Net Carbs per day. As you reduce carbs and sugars – your body revs into action and begins to use fat for your primary fuel source, resulting in weight loss. I started at 196, let’s see what happens by September 1.
No change, started 2007 at 189 and now after Thanksgiving I am still 189.
I have some fat redistrbution from my tummy to my hips. Just what I wanted, although it apears I have lost my beer gut. But I know the rest of the story.
I just bought a accurate WW scale, to help motivate me. I started Jan 1, 2007 at 189
Not too bad, for no exercise yet. I did not know salads could be sooo tasty! Besides, I developed the idea it was a “woman thing” to eat salads for lunch. (See an OLD Dog can learn new tricks!)
Tomorrow, I will start walking. You just got to DO it, but sometime it is hard to change you habits.
It may be helpful, if anyone has a hint on starting a new habit. I heard you have to do the same thing for 3 weeks, to develop a NEW habit.
So, this goal has become very important to me.
My daughters have been after me to lose weight and begin exercising for a long while now.
Looks like I can not deny the need any longer.
Overweight is such a nice PC term NOW that I am on it’s max limit.
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
