I am lagging.

It’s really hard to find time to just sit and write uninterrupted. So, what I think I’m going to do about my autobiography is use journals containing writing prompts. I have a couple, one of which I started a few years ago but could use an update, and one of which I received as a gift last Christmas. I hope to start this in the near future. Maybe I’ll even post some of the better pieces.

Listography

I came across listography.com, which I suppose can be a starting off point. I’ve been wanting to compile a book about myself that consists solely of lists, and this site allows people to do just that. I’ve only got one list started so far, but I think before I know it I’ll have several. And I think the site is only a few months old, so I’m excited to see how it develops.

Useless Trivia

I watched a show on Ben Franklin today and found out that he didn’t start writing his until he was 65, so I guess I still have some time huh? Still, I’d like to start writing, or at least make note of, things I’d like to include in mine.

Untitled

My grandmother’s life fascinates me. She lost her mother at the age of fourteen. She came from a fairly refined family, but married a poor man, my grandfather. She had eleven kids, three of whom died before they reached a year old. She is five feet tall and weighs 115 pounds; indeed, she is a “little old lady,” but has an inner strength that shines about her.

My mother’s life is no less amazing. She is the second oldest child, and the oldest daughter. When my grandmother spent a year in the hospital, it was my mother who ran the household, at twelve years old. She has never been affluent, even now, yet she continues to work harder than anyone I know.

I am next on the list. While I cannot say my own life is extraordinary, perhaps someone else will.
