learn about classical music, fine wines and good food and not be horribly pretentious with it.

Snobs annoy me, even when I agree with them. Nothing irritates me more than the “hipper than thou” folk who are “into” a band until they hit the charts and then say “they’re sellouts”...even though the sound is the same and all that’s changed is the number of listeners. To me, classical snobs, wine snobs, and food snobs are all just varieties of this general attitude. It’s possible to appreciate the fine things without disdaining the common things.
