fix up my house

I really need to make a list of things that I NEED to do and a list of things that I WANT to do.

After my roof, I planted some trees and bought myself a gazebo of sorts (not sure in what order I did this, but it was all last spring). I have planted some vines and have a few more to go.

I may end up painting my house next month. I have the colors picked out and all, but Im not real sure about using a sprayer.

I have to paint first before a couple of the vines or I will have to remove them to get to the house!!

So, I guess next things next…. I need to make that list and alternate between needs and wants.

So much to do I would like to watch it widdle away as I check things off of an actual LIST!!

It doesn’t rain here often, but it sure did yesterday- and not a cheesy little “sprinkle sprinkle” where you still have to water the lawn and the trees. It poured good for the whole night!!!

And NO LEAK IN MY ROOM ANYMORE (we got the roof fixed- that had been leaking for 3 or 4 years)!!!! It was WONDERFUL to be able to enjoy the rain and not be stressed about it. I was sooo giggly last night. WooHoo!!!! NO MORE LEAKS!!!

Let it rain, let it rain (ofcourse that is probably all we’ll get until mid-to late July anyway)!!

Will have the master bedroom (hopefully) finshed and drywalled this weekend- and painted even!! Then on to other projects!!

I bought a large “gazebo” on Saturday!! It got set up today. Wonderful! I want to plant vines around it and maybe some cobblestone under it.

Trying to fix up the backyard and make it comfortable so everyone will stop partying in my front yard!!!!!

We are sooooo…. redneck with that!!!

I also bought 3 trees yesterday. A Texas Olive that has very beautiful white flowers on it. It is supposed to bloom even through our hot summer!

I bought a tangerine. I have an orange already, but it is not a very sweet one, good for juicing and that is about it.

And a Vixen or Vissen (VITEX!!!) that has very beautiful purple flowers and looks a lot like a Jacaranda, but is supposed to take a lot less water!

Pretty, pretty!!! It will be a while before they are big, but they are pretty (big) “bushes” for now.

I didn’t put them under my “hammock” heading because I didn’t plant them close enough to be able to do that. I have two other trees in mind that will probably be a little sterdier for the hammock. That may come in the fall! It’s already getting hot!

We also got some drywall tore down in our room. We had to stop at the ceiling because I have to get some insulation from work to put back up in there when it all comes falling down. I didn’t want to air condition the attic.

I will get that tomorrow and we will have to complete it this coming weekend.

Work, work, work. I think it will never end!

I finished up a closet the last couple of days. A linnen closet with shelves and I got it painted. I bought a cute curtain -to cover it as I am not so good at fixing things yet and I am scared to install a door.

I will hopefull start tearing down drywall today and see how far I get!! I really, really need to get that done before it is time for my mother to move in!! Right now we are in the room we are supposed to be preparing for her!!

I got a really good deal on a gazebo!!! It is huge and I am soooo very excited!! A start on my backyard- that is, at this moment, a desert waste land!!

It is done and it looks beautiful! Now it makes my house look shabby and I need to paint it. I don’t think we will get to that until the fall when it starts to cool down. We’ll see. It’s not like it’s gotten that hot yet.

But, right now we are starting to work on the drywall in the bedroom and then get my closet back up or in or fixed….

I have an old gas furnace that I haven’t used in about 3 or 4 years. I would like to have that removed so that my closet can be a bit bigger and it will also add room for another small linen closet. That will be VERY nice. It is all in the same area even tho they are different projects. They all tie in to each other.

Guess first things are first.

I may check on trees again this weekend. They will deliver and plant them so that won’t be any work for us.

One room at a time…. right????

The roofers woke me up at 5:30 a.m.!!!! It was noisy, loud and I had to lock the kitty in the room and let the dogs inside and it was totally awesome!!!!

I couldn’t help but giggle and squeal and jump up and down!!!!

I have been waiting soooo long to be able to afford this!!! I could cry with joy!!!

I will now be able to enjoy the thunderstorms and the rain the way I used too!!!

No more leak in my closet….. I can actually HAVE a closet again (it has been three years and my clothes are scattered in everyone else’s closet- where ever they will fit.) Omigosh!!!! I will ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO HAVE A CLOSET AGAIN!!!! And paint my room. I can have a pretty room again!!!

It leaked so bad I had to take things off the walls too!!

I am just beside myself!! WooHoo!!!!! It should take two more days and be totally done!!

before my roof gets done I guess we are going to replace the facia. what a chore this will be. I hope we don’t screw anything up!!

I am also going to buy three trees this weekend for the backyard!!

I think that will mainly fall under the “I want a hammock” catagory, but it is still a house thing too!

It has been leaking for sooooo looooong!!!

Then I want to fix up my bedroom (the target of the leak) and paint the outside of my house!!! I have already picked out my colors!!

My roof is FINALLY getting done!!! Omigosh is this the greatest EVER!!! They start on the 6th! It has been leaking forever and ever and directly into my bedroom closet! It is not like it rains here often, but I have a waterfall when it does. I haven’t had a closet for over 2 years because of this!!! WooHooo!!!

My fencing is sloooowly getting done, but it is. I have about $400 more to go and then….. I will work on….. getting my closet put back up,in what ever and paint the outside.

I got new grass this spring- the coolest grass EVER!! It is superbowl grass. The superbowl (should I be capitalizing SUPERBOWL????? l.o.l.) was here in Az and my daughter’s boyfriends dad is the head maintenance dude and they (don’t know why) they rolled up the grass that the players played on and gave it away!!!

I got enough for my front yard! WooHoo!!! It looks so cool and beautiful!!! I still (barely) have blue markings on it from one of the endzones!!!

Now to get the back yard looking 1/2 as good! G
