I love Halloween and so do my wife and kids.
Last year my 5 year old daughter stated ,,, “next year I want to dress up as a HAUNTED HOUSE” ,,, she reminded me of this all year long …
Labor Day weekend we started construction of her house/costume…
I don’t mind saying…it’s looking pretty awesome!!!!!
I’ll post pictures when the BIG DAY comes!!!!

My son had his 7th birthday party on 5/12. The theme was LEGOs (he’s a LEGO addict). I decided I was going to be creative and make him 2 LEGO cakes. They were both chocolate devils food, one with red frosting and chocolate pudding filling and the other was one was blue single layer). They came out pretty well if I say so myself…I had never made a cake before so I made a practice cake early in the week and the “REAL THING” the night before the party…He doesn’t like cake, but LOVED his LEGO cakes!!!!! WAY TO GO DAD!!!!!!

Our daughter HATES ponytails but LOVES chewing her hair. Lately we have done a pretty good job of getting her to wear a ponytail. She does whimper and cry when we drop her off at daycare but usually calms down before we leave. Are we “bad parents” for making her wear the ponytail to keep her from chewing her hair?

Completed my son’s “Pinewood Derby Car” (it’s a Cub Scout thing)...He was very proud of it, and so was I. Now we see how well it will do in the races in a few weeks…

We were watching “Extreme Makover: Home Edition” last night as a family…If you didn’t see it, the family that was being helped had recently lost the husband/father to an illnes brought on by toxic mold in their new home. When my daughter figured out that the daddy had died, she said “I wish you died too daddy”...Well, her words hurt me at first, but then I realized that she didn’ really mean it. I asked her if she knew that would mean she would never see daddy again and she started crying and ran to me and gave me a big tight hug and said “I take it back daddy, I dont want you to die!!” I knew she meant THAT and all was forgiven…Maybe I’ not such a bad daddy afterall….
