I have two professors on my graduate committee now, and one has given me a verbal thumbs up on my capstone project idea.

So, for some reason, I’ve been thinking I needed 33 hours with a thesis or 36 without a thesis. As I was looking through the program’s website earlier this spring, though, I saw that those numbers are actually 24 with and 30 without! (I currently have 22 hours under my belt.) I’m scheduled to meet with my advisor later this month to discuss the pros and cons of choosing the thesis route.
Just registered for 2 spring classes, one of which is an Internet course. Hopefully my schedule will jibe with these two. I think so.
Since beginning my program, this is the first semester I’ve had no classes. I started out with one, but due to some challenges right out of the gate, I dropped. I’ve really liked not having to juggle work AND coursework. I’ll have to get back in the groove come January.
I’ve been trying to register for a rural sociology class, but my account won’t let me in. The instructor told me it shouldn’t be any problem signing up because “most students who register for this class drop it within the first week.”
Hmmm. What am I getting myself into?
Okay, this is how much interest I’ve had in classes lately. I only remembered just now to go online and check my grade for the class this semester, even though it’s been posted for a few days. I managed an A, although I’ll admit that was due to the professor’s generosity and that a C would’ve been justified. Anyhow, whether or not I was into it, that class is over.
So, this class I’m not into this semester – all weekend I’ve been dreading an assignment due (or so I thought) this Wednesday, scolding myself for not starting already but not having the initiative to make the first steps. This morning, I checked the syllabus, and that assignment is due NEXT Wednesday. We don’t even have class this week. Let the procrastination begin again.
My head isn’t in my class this semester. Fortunately, the class is relatively easy, so I don’t think passing is an issue. I haven’t even bought the required textbook yet (and don’t intend to). Last night during the lecture, I worked on a short story. I hope I’m more in the groove next semester.
I have 16 hours under my belt now. I made my first B this semester, but that means I still have a GPA of 3.8. (In all honesty, I did some half-ass work in that class, so I’m tickled to get by with a B.)
The semester is winding down with two weeks to go, but I have some work to do: a presentation for one class; a virtual presentation and 15-page paper for the other. I haven’t started any of this. (I know. Bad student.)
