I had delayed onset muscle soreness last week after going to the gym, and I just went back today. I did arms today, and about thirty minutes of cardio, but I made sure not to overdo it with the weights. For the last two days I have been following my Bf’s diet, and when I stepped on the scale, I was 266.4, having lost 1.4 pounds since last week. Not terrible, but not really the pace I’m after.

This the diet my BF is on. When he was diagnosed with diabetes they told he could either be on a strict diet and excercise regularly, or take insulin injections. He chose the former.
Breakfast:
green tea, whole wheat toast, hardboiled egg, a piece of fruit
Lunch: sandwich consisting of whole wheat bread, mustard, meat, cheese, a vegetable
Dinner: 1/2 chicken breast, 1/2 brown rice, 1 stalk steamed broccili (or other vegetable)
Snacks: fluids (not soda), almonds, carrots, celery
exercise 3x a week, at least a 1/2 hour of cardio each time
Pretty slim pickins. No eating after 5, no simple sugars.
Worked a random assortment of weights, wobbling through the gym, working each muscle group to exhaustion, listening to A Prairie Home Companion, like an old man. Robin and Linda Williams sang Bruce Springsteen’s “If I should fall behind.” It was beautiful. After the workout, I weighed myself: 267.8
That means that this goal will be achieved when the scale reads 257.8 and no more. I hope to have accomplished this in two weeks.
I would like to cut my daily caloric intake and lose ten pounds off of my overall weight.
