i’ve finished about 13 or so books within a little over a month. i still have like, two or three more books to read, plus lots of poetry books. but honestly, during this time, because i was so focused on finishing books, i completely neglected God. as you can see from my #1 goal, i’m not doing that anymore.
it was nice actually completing something, and i learned a lot from it. i also learned, (or mildly refined) the skill of finishing things, which i know i have a problem with.
maybe i’ll get to reading those few other books, but really, i’m happy with what i’ve accomplished.
so i did the “impossible.” :-)

Merchant was better than Taming of the Shrew… and Twelfth Night was better than merchant of Venice.
either way, half of my shakespeare books are done.
i’m reading Dragon Companion now… it’s kinda interesting… it’s weird going from such involving reads to something so… mild. Heh.
i still have half of the Idiot by Dostoevsky to read… that’s another three hundred or so pages.. i think. it’s intense. i might save that for last because, 1. i don’t want to read it. i don’t really care for it… and 2. it’s going to take so freaking long.
this goal is going to be knocked off in no time. And i already have a book ready for the buying… or at least, after i order it. hehh… Giraffes? Giraffes!

I’m onto the Shakespeare books my brother got for me a couple years ago. It was okay, in all… there were a lot of puns and jokes, though, I didn’t find them very funny… (save one part), either because it’s dated, (obviously) or because I just didn’t find it funny. The play itself seemed very rushed, (though it is a play), and rather… tossed together. He could have done better… (like the movie 10 things I hate about you… which, now I’m thinking of so many references from the movie to book… it’s even cooler.)
I returned Don Quixote, and it was refreshing that he and I could have an intelligent conversation of what we thought of the book. And how we both didn’t like the ending.
I’m going to go ahead and start the next S. book, The Merchant of Venice. Yay!

don quixote is now finished. a day late, cause last night i read about a fifth of it, and started to fall asleep. upon finishing, i wasn’t too thrilled with the ending, but at least now i can give it back to my brother… (i borrowed it some years ago.. heh.)
now i most definitely will read some shakespeare because it’s shorter… i can push through the stack i have, and since it’s Christmas, reading something under 400 pages would be pretty wise, i think.
here we go… the taming of the shrew, cause joel told me to.

couple more chapters then i’m done with this one for the week.
i’m adding a new goal. “read a book every week till I don’t have any more.” or something like that.
since i was able to do with with these two books, which are both pretty hefty in and of themselves, i think i can do it and it’ll help finish this goal. :-D

making my way through this one pretty nicely. nothing’s really going on, which is annoying, but the character development is interesting. i really hope something starts to pick up soon.

i bought one last night. but the thing is, i really just want to read Russian, so i think it was a worthy trade. the majority of the books i’m halfway through aren’t all that interesting to me anymore. i’m still keeping this because i know i’ll still want to do something of the sort someday… finish all my books… but not quite yet do i have the motivation to do so. shrugs
