StitchFest 2006 A Day of Knitting to End Domenstic VIolence — 1 year ago
Tonight I went to Boston, MA for their annual Stitch Fest to benefit the Women’s Domestic Shelter, Renewal House, which provides services to women who are victimes of deomsetic violence. I also brought in a bag of canned goods, which was appreciated by Ms. Criscione, Director of Renewal House.

I got instruction by the women and the men at the event, which was great! They smiled as they were showing me how to do the basic stitches and I did get the hang of it before I left tonight. I found that knitting is so relaxing and they even gave me a ball of red yearn to take home and practice, and I have so smaller needles.
I always love going to these events and the people there always make me feel so comfortable with myself. I was not nervous being there as I have felt in other events. That was amazing and I was sad to leave however, we had to be out of there by 8:00 PM. I am not closing on this goal yet as I have decided to join the “Knitting Meet up” group in Boston, MA as a few members were present there tonight.
