11/16: Too much red wine at a dinner party. (5 glasses??)
11/20: 2 glasses red wine.
Hrm, so that’s about 53 drinks in the last 40 days.
Good news: less than 2 per day. Most weeks I have at least 2 days where I don’t have anything.
Bad news: Still more than one per day which puts me at risk of lots of bad stuff (breast cancer etc.) and at risk of making an ass out of myself.
Good news: I’ve only woken up once in the last 40 days afraid that I acted inappropriately (turns out I didn’t.) Never put myself in a situation where I’d need to drive.
Bad news: 53 drinks X 150 calories (mostly red wine) = 7950 calories which is more than two pounds that I could have lost.

11/2: 2 beers
11/3: 1 beer, 1 glass red wine
11/4: 4 glasses red wine while watching election stuff with friends.
So this week I just had too much. Stopped at two mostly, but drinking everyday is not the goal!

Decided it would be good to write down what I’m drinking so I can really see it. Bingeing and having to write down “7 glasses of red wine, a margarita and 2 tequila shots” would suck!! So since my last entry:
10/11: 1 beer
10/13: 2 glasses red wine
10/14: 1 beer
10/15: 1 beer
10/17: 2 glasses red wine
10/18: 1 beer



Ugh. 15 months ago

I have such a ridiculously short and selective memory. I feel awful after I have more than two drinks, plus it makes me thoughtlessly nosh on unhealthy food. Pretty much the next day is a wash, and I feel yucky. So why do I do it again 3-4 days later?? Most of the time it’s not even that fun. So I would really like to work on this goal. I just want to be able to remember the next time I’m contemplating having that third drink that I’ll be happy the next day if I don’t! If I can’t make progress on this I’ll have to give up drinking altogether, and that sounds drastic and not too fun! I’ll work on moderation first.
