learn to play guitar

argh—once again I have to put this on hold, no money for the guitar. Someday…

my sister is leaving in 3 hours and I’m utterly, completely bummed :-(

while she was here we both sort of forgot about getting me a guitar as she had picked out a different gift the first night she arrived. Holy moly this baby is huge. I haven’t ever owned one this big—we watched a DVD tonight and could read the subtitles from across the room!

I’m still going to get myself a guitar,so maybe next time headapollo is up this way he can take me to the music shop and help me pick one out (hint hint)...

I had hopes of tackling this earlier, but receipt of my high utilities bills put it on the back burner. However, my sister wants me to choose something for my upcoming birthday, so I’ve decided to ask for a guitar.

I want to begin lessons THIS YEAR because on the 19th of April I turn 40(!) and I would like to be able to tick this done before then.

Goal 1: January – buy guitar
Goal 2: February – enroll in lessons

I’m thinking about enrolling in the beginning guitar course at the Met. I am supposed to bring my own guitar. How do I know which to buy? Acoustic or classical? Size? Is 45 quid a good deal?

First I need an acoustic guitar, and then I will see if the instructor I was referred to last year is still in business.

I’m watching videos on youtube and would totally love to be able to play the opening to “Dreamboat Annie”.

a workmate referred his guitar instructor, so I have a name to contact for the new year—bonus, he’s just around the corner from the office. Now I just have to come up with a guitar.
