...I suck. I have exactly one week until I land in Stavanger and I can still only say a few things:
Jeg heter Anji.
Jeg kommer fra England.
Jeg ha en sonnen, han heter Orion.
Jeg vil gjerne et glas oel, takk.
Hyggelig a mote deg.
Um… I think that’s it. I truly suck. :o/

I learned to say “hygellig a mote deg” (pleased to meet you) which is a useful phrase. I also learned some animals – en bie (a bee), ei ku (a cow), en mus (a mouse, also apparently slang for female genitalia), en rotte (a rat), en katte (a cat). I know I probably won’t need to use the words for animals, but they’re fun to learn all the same.

I’m going to Norway on the 9th December! I’ll be meeting my boyfriend’s parents – and his dad doesn’t speak English. He understands it, but he doesn’t speak it… so it would be very inconvenient if I don’t at least know conversational Norwegian by then.
I have a phrase book, I have a study book and I have an audio language course. I’m also learning what I can from the internet.
Any Norwegian speakers around here fancy having me on MSN/Skype/other IM program, to let me practice on them? It’ll be amusing for you if nothing else! ;o)

What I really want is to translate a poem I wrote for a dear Norwegian friend, into his native language… and I have no clue how to go about doing so.
