When I lived in WA, I would always buy a few extra groceries to give to this homeless guy in my neighborhood, but then I stopped seeing him around. I now live across the street from a huge city park with a walking trail and in the morning I see people in the woodsy area off the path, sometimes still lying down. I wonder where are their families? Why have they been thrown away? Whether it is mental illness, substance abuse, or fallin on hard times, they deserve more. I would not want my child to go to sleep hungry out in the cold, the homeless were or still are somebody’s child, don’t I have an obligation?
