I continued to work on my outline today. Since this is a guidebook, I want it to be very visual, for people to have a visceral reaction to some eye candy. I love those moments when your imagination is in the zone, and a big grin hits your teeth when you have a great idea and can imagine it coming to fruition.

Today I had a brainstorming session and wrote down every idea I had about my guide book. I grabbed other guidebooks I liked and tried to figure out how I could adapt the things I loved about these books into my book. Before the day is out I want to do a sample chapter and review my plan on a non-fiction book proposal. Since it is a local guide I am going to try local publishers first.
Is it too much of a cliche to say I want to write a book? My idea is a type of guidebook I want, but it does not exist. So, hey, write it myself! I am taking a lot of the advice I have found here about setting daily writing goals (would have to be weekly in my case) and using what works for you: Post-its, 3×5 cards, Word, notebook paper, whatever. I’m getting started NOW.
