Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
No idea.
2.Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Both, it depends on what the situation is.
3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
We don’t think it short till it’s the end and we have nothing we want anymore.
4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
People to understand other cultures and be less racist.
6.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Playing with animals and traveling.
7.Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
Settling for what I am doing.
8.If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would have a kid at 20. Retire at 30. Don’t hold anything back and tell it like it is.
9.To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
Somewhat. But it’s always with the thought of how it’ll affect the future.
10.Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
doing things right.
11.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.What do you do?
Tell them i’m friends with the person and ask that they not talk about her like that in front of me.
12.If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy your teenage years. I received this advice and never believed it till it was over. i doubt they’d listen to me till they experienced it too.

I think about people differently. a lot of people have a closed mind in the world.

Because everyone else is ignorant.

Bungee jump or sky dive- scared of heights

London. i fell in love with London the first time in 3rd grade and every time I go back i fall more and more in love with everything it has to offer.

Always and not really but it makes me feel better.

Joyful simpleton. I don’t want to every worry if possible.

I think so, maybe not fully.
24.Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
losing touch with a goof friend that lives near me. This has happened to me with numerous people but having them move away somehow is an excuse to use and easier to reconnect.

My loved ones.
26.Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
never be able to make new ones.

Yes, experience it.

Unfortunately yes and i feel more lost than ever.

Yes and no.
30.What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?
Traveling in paris with my family taking the family picture over the canal. My family being happy and carefree.

When I feel in love for the first time.

The last bit of my hope.

I don’t care for religion. Prob cause they’re too ignorant to consider the other religion and just keep trying to convert the other side.

maybe and get the job I really want to have.

depends on the work.

A long time ago when everything in my life was perfect.

Yes. I’ve always dreamed to be famous and it’d make life easier.

being alive is following the norm and truly living is doing what you want and it makes you happy.

Be more assertive.
