COUNT MY BLESSINGS

I am so lucky in this aspect. I have two friends who are sisters that I have know over 30 years now. Their family is like my own, and I spend 5 to 9 days camping with them every year in San Diego in the summer and we bring our children along. It is amazing to me to have had friends so long, and to have what truly feels like sisters. Because of them I can now count their cousins as some of my best friends. It is easier to make friends as a child sometimes, adult life can get in the way. But I am also blessed to have made a wonderful circle of friends at my job. I love when we can get together as a group, it is nice to truly feel comfortable with them and to enjoy the comraderie. I am particularly blessed to have made 3 very good friends there. Each of them so different and each very important to me in their own ways. Rita is so inspiring to me in so many ways, and she cracks me up. I can always count on Rita to say what she thinks also. Sharon is like a sister from another mother. I find it extremely easy to relate to Sharon and I think that she feels the same way. Good or bad, we understand each other and accept. She also cracks me up, and I am jealous of her wit. Janet is calm and understanding, she listens so well and gets every joke. She eggs me on and is always always willing to be there for a friend in need. I would be lucky to have any one of my friends and feel especially blessed to have so many in my life. More than I even wrote about.

My family.

I am so incredibly blessed by my family. My parents are amazing. Married almost 40 years, incredibly talented, smart, funny. They are so good to me and I realize what a gift it is to live in the same town with them and to have them with me still. I need to spend more time with them and plan to do so. In fact this might have to be a goal unto itself. What great role models they are to me and to my children. My husband is such a caring person, gentle soul, and great father. I am lucky to have him. My children amaze me and have made me a better person. Its like having your heart walk around outside of your body and I only hope I do the best I can for them. I am lucky to have great inlaws.. they really could not be better. I wish my brother and I were closer, he really doesnt live that far away and we are not so busy that we cant talk. I need to work on this.
