learn to drive

I passed my oral test this morning :-)

I’ve had three lessons this week but I’m considering changing instructors. This is the 4th time (at least) that I feel my instructor’s been impatient and unreasonable. I’m not the type to shut up and take it when someone’s trying to bully me so I calmly told her that I didn’t like her attitude and that shouting wasn’t going to help me drive better. That led to this trained psychologist analysing my personality, and telling me I was stiff, cold, unfriendly, introverted and that she didn’t think I made friends easily. I felt like hitting her – she’s not a friend, she’s not a therapist, I’m paying her to teach me how to drive, not to comment on what she doesn’t like about me. I’ve booked two more lessons – if she doesn’t act more professional, I’m switching to someone else.

I’ve had two lessons this week and I’m finally feeling more comfortable being behind the wheel, like I might have some control over the car.

I’ve been learning to use the clutch and shift gears, and have three lessons lined up for next week.

I’ve had 3 this week and have another 3 booked for the next. I’m enjoying it and it’s helped structure my day.

I had to skip my last lesson because I’ve been sick for the last four days, but I have three lessons booked for this week. One is tomorrow morning.

I only learned to signal, accelerate and turn but I feel great about having started at last. My next lesson is on Friday.

10 am. I’m looking forward to it!

It seems like never. It’s already July and I was supposed to have a lesson today. The lady I’m supposed to be learning from didn’t even bother lettng me know she couldn’t make it today, I had to call her instead to ask whether she was coming (after waiting for 15 minutes). “Oh no, today I have to go to a driving test with someone”. Could have let me know, right? Ugh.

My first lesson will be next Thursday at 10
